About
Puppy Manners – Friday Class 🐾
Give your puppy the best possible start with our fun, positive and reward-based Puppy Manners class.
This friendly group class is designed to help puppies build the everyday skills they need to grow into confident, focused and well-mannered dogs. We work on practical foundations such as name response, attention around distractions, sit, down, stay, recall, loose-lead walking, settling and calm behaviour around other dogs and people.
Each session includes a mixture of essential life skills, confidence-building exercises, handling practice, scent games and simple tricks to keep training engaging and enjoyable. Exercises are adapted to suit each puppy’s age, confidence and ability, so there is no pressure to keep up with anyone else.
Puppies are taught to focus on their own handler rather than playing during the class. This helps them learn that they cannot always greet every dog they see and supports calmer behaviour, better engagement and stronger communication with their owner.
This class is ideal for puppies who need help with:
Building focus and engagement
Learning basic manners and boundaries
Walking calmly on a lead
Recall and responding to their name
Settling around people and other dogs
Confidence in new environments
Handling and cooperative care
Developing calm, positive social skills
Classes are held on Friday evenings at Gosforth Residents Association and last approximately 45 minutes. Group sizes are kept small, with a maximum of five dogs, allowing plenty of individual guidance and support.
Single classes are available from £22.50. A recurring membership is £75 every four weeks and guarantees your puppy’s weekly space. Flexible credit plans are also available from £80 for four sessions.
Puppy social sessions are available separately from £7, giving puppies an appropriate opportunity to interact and play while their owners learn how to recognise healthy, balanced social behaviour.
